The Future Bright Project
The Future Bright project
“Just a Michelangelo thought there was an angel locked inside every piece of marble. I think there is a brilliant child locked inside every student” Marva Collins
Gradworx does educational research in communities with an ambitious social investment and educational vision: we want to make people smarter and unlock the brilliant child locked inside every student.
The Future Bright project
The issue of IQ, talent and potential has always been controversial, but today it is accepted that intelligence is dynamic and can be viewed as “learnable intelligence”. This philosophy is founded on the works of Michael E. Martinez and his book “Future Bright: A Transforming vision of human intelligence”, Adam Grant in “Hidden Potential: The Science of achieving greater things “ as well as in the ideas of Perkins(learnable intelligence), Spearman (G factor), Feuerstein( (Instrumental Enrichment), Binet (mental orthopaedics and self-regulation), Helen Dawe (Milwaukee project: Orphans Home and Iowa Soldiers), Luis Monchada (Venezuela: Project Intelligence), Carol Dweck (Growth mindset), Angela Duckworth (Grit) etc.
Gradworx does educational research in communities with an ambitious social investment and educational vision: we want to make people smarter and unlock the brilliant child locked inside every student. This does not mean That Gradworx exclusively focus on the gifted or highly gifted – our approach is inclusive and includes all children independent of their IQ or performance.
Consequently, Gradworx has designed an educational process and academic skillset and mindset inspired by the learned intelligence approach that integrates aspects of adaptability, grit mindset, a growth mindset, effective character as a learned capacity, aspiration, conscientiousness, scaffolding, deliberate play, resilience, learned optimism, deep practice, deep intellectual curiosity, and creativity.
The purpose of this “Bright” mindset and skillset approach is to make children smarter and more successful with learnable skills and
habits and mindsets. This process and skillset will initially be applied and tested in pre-school children with test groups and control groups and the research
design, and results will be vigorously reviewed -also as a longitudinal study, to proof or disprove the long term intellectual, character and academic benefits of the Future Brights project. The Future Brights project will later be extended to primary school children.
If your pre-school or primary school want to be part of this exciting project of making kids smarter -please contact Gradworx. Together we can make many more “Future Brights”
